Let's be friends

I am a pretty lucky mom. For the most part my girls are always getting along. Occasionally, maybe once or twice a week are the girls not the best of friends. I get so much joy out of watching them play together and help each other. Rowyn is such a little momma. She guides Reese and even encourages and praises her. The other day Reese was doing something herself and I hear Rowyn, "Good job Reesey, that's a big girl." Reese also cautions and protects Rowyn. We were walking outside up the stairs to the garage each of us with our hands full...water bottles, snacks, etc. (we seem to prepare as though we will be gone for days each time we leave the house), when Reese says to Rowyn "be careful Nowyn." (She doesn't say the "R" very well). Oh sweet a little 2 year old thinking this is kind of difficult, and reminds her big sister to be careful. Reese also sometimes needs a little space. I was in the kitchen one night and I here Rowyn in the living room, "Reesey, I want to be your friend." As Reese is marching away arms crossed. Broke my heart to see Rowyn's feelings hurt. I can't even imagine what it will be like when she starts school!!

  1. How sweet! I wonder if it's different with boys and girls. My kids love to play together and help one another, but sometimes it gets out of hand. I remember being friends with Leah as a kid, but didn't appreciate Josh fully until I was a little older. What do you think?

  2. Yeah, maybe it has something to do with boys maturing later than girls.
