Some more family pics

Beautiful Indian summer sunsets.

Reese was excited about "what God painted fow us."

My girls are girly girls who like to climb and play in the bushes and dirt...

in their dresses and fur coats.

Cutest four year old ever made.

A cake I made for a friend's 5 year old son's birthday.

The girls like it when I make cakes...they get the left overs.

I let them decorate how ever they wanted...these are Rowyn's creations, lined up just so.

Just eating breakfast.

My girls LOVE art. Some of it is pretty good and is going in some frames.

Some more Harvest!

We got so much grapes this year I didn't know what to do with them all!! I think next year, between all of our apples and grapes, we need to get a press so we can make some fresh cider and try making some wine! We'll see. But for now, the grapes were so sweet!

(sorry their so blurry...it has nothing to do with the person operating the camera :) )

DANGER!!

So here I am mowing my grass like I do every four days in the summer. The weather is nice, the girls are in their swim suits and they always play around me while I mow. I have a push mower even with our huge yard because I like the way it cuts on our uneven yard.

I tell the girls to move the rakes off of the grass and they do and they step back onto the side walks. Well the next thing I know I hear a POW and Reese starts crying. I mow over to her to see what's wrong. OH MY! Something had flung from the lawn mower and hit her right in the upper thigh.
I have to admit, I was on the verge of a freak out. Only staying calm enough not to freak HER out. She had only been about 2 or 3 feet away from the mower. I swooped her up inside and put ice on it while she laid down I checked her out to make sure nothing was broken or bleeding. Bless her little heart.

When we went back outside I found this block that must have been somehow hidden in the grass just right for me not to see. Oh and look at that, it perfectly matches poor Reeser's little square welted bruise.

WHAT????

Well it was time. Rowyn's first day of pre-school. The closer it got the more emotional I got. I tried not to cry in front of her so she wouldn't think there was some reason to be scared. She was so excited. Talking about all of the things she would do. The closer the date came, the more mature her thoughts and words. Reese was so excited. Excited that "I jus two and when I tuwn fouw I jus gonna go to schoo." And if you asked Reese what we were going to do while Rowyn was in school? "We jus go to da ocean, owe da zoo..." She had BIG plans for her alone time with Momma.
SPECIAL DAY!!

So excited

I can't believe this little angel I just brought home from the hospital has started this journey in life that will only go by faster. Don't even talk to me about graduation. For now, like I tell my girls, let's just live in the today. We only get one 4 year old September and only one Two year old September, so let's not rush it. Let's enjoy this one!Dropping Rowyn off.

"Rowyn's Special Day" even Daddy took off work. He wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Proud sister.

She looks like she is going to be just fine.

I admit, I walked back to the car swiping my cheeks. Something about a mile stone that tugs at a mom's heart. I never REALLY knew that until now with my own. My vulnerable little tender heart roaming about the world outside of me. Man that is gut wrenching.

But this too was Reese's "special day". Daddy had taken the morning off and Mom and Daddy asked her what she wanted to do. "I jus want ice on da bottom, juice in da middle wiff fwosting on da top." (All said with her tiny little hand swirling in a circle.) So to Cutters Point we go for an italian soda.

I kept checking my watch as though time couldn't go by fast enough. When the time came to pick Ro up, even Uncle Frank got to come...that put an extra smile on Rowyn's face.

When the day was said and done, Rowyn had a great first day of school. Reese had some much needed time with mom and dad, and mom survived. But now I think I truly understand what older generations have said when they say it goes by so fast. I thought at one time that I knew...but I had no clue. I hope I have a better understanding of it now, or I am in a HEAP of trouble!

Best sisters

My girls are the best sisters. When we first moved to this house two years ago we had Reese in one room and Rowyn in another. As Reese got older and into a "big girl bed" she wanted to share a room with Rowyn. Even though she keeps her clothes in what is now the toy room. She still wants to stay in there with Ro. Then this past summer we put Rowyn up on a bed frame. They thought it was the coolest thing. They are such good buddies. It makes my little momma's chest swell with pride the way they take care of each other. And now with Lola in the house sometimes, I think she is getting in on the sisterhood.
The first night of Rowyn's bed up on a frame Reese was right next to her.
And so was Lola.

Labor day 2009

For the past few years every Labor Day we all get together over at Grandma O's and Papa O's for some BBQ and games. If the weather is warm there are squirt gun fights (with some being thrown in the pool), but sometimes the weather ain't so great (it's Washington for cryin' out loud) and there is always RUNGO!!! Grandma O and Papa O always do a scavenger hunt for the grand kids using Easter eggs. Each grand kid has their own color of egg and each egg has a clue. They tromps throughout the property until they come to a big bag of goodies. It's cute and the kids have fun. Now my kids think of Easter eggs for Easter and for Labor day.

Reading one of Rowyn's clue from her green eggs of course.

Reese got some pink sparkly shoes. One of her favorites still.

Rowyn got a game...not sure if that is for her or me??

Aunt Lori throwin' her Rungo.

Aunt Lori and Ms Richia waitin' for the boys to throw. Sorry it's kinda blurry.

Some serious brother time....

We at the Orser homestead take our Rungo a little on the SERIOUS side.

Papa O has the brackets all laid out!

Thank you Papa O and Grandma O for such fun memories and a great tradition!

Rowyn's meet the Teacher day!

Rowyn is starting preschool!! What??? When did that happen? People always tell you how fast it goes, but you don't really understand until it is really going that fast!! Rowyn was so excited to start this new chapter of life. She kept explaining that when you turn four you get to go to school. Even Reese was so excited, she kept saying, "I just 2, but when I tuwn fouw I go to school like Wowyn."

There was a short moment of fear. I was explaining that Reese and I will take you to school in the morning and then we would leave and we would be back to pick her up. The look on her face. "Momma, you just gonna leave me there by myself?" "Oh honey, I will drop you off and you will get to learn and play with new friends and your teacher. I will be here to pick you up every day, I promise." That fear was then gone. But every time she told the story of her getting to start school, she would state that momma will leave me, her and Reese will have special alone time, and then she will be back to get me." Almost like if she said it enough then she would believe it.
She was so excited to go meet her new teacher. She even went out and picked an apple from the tree to give to her. We got to go and checkout the classroom while other parents and kids in the class came too. She had so much fun she didn't want to leave!!

You're growing too fast Rowyn!! We love you!
