Reese in her running belts

For this last marathon I ran in June I bought a running belt. It's a fuel belt. So there is a small (and I mean SMALL) pouch to hold my snacks, Vitamin C, Ibuprofen, etc. and it can hold 6 small water bottles. I have a camelbak that I trained with my for first marathon but I just felt like that was so heavy and was ready for something lighter. Anyway, my girls thought it was the coolest thing. Well, it is pink too. So both the girls would put their headbands around their waist and run through the house saying it is their "running belt." So here is my Reese in her running belt brushing her hair (of course.)

Lola

Our kitten Lola has an extra special spot for Rowyn. Only Rowyn will she cuddle with like a little baby. All snuggled up close to her under the covers. One night I came into the living room and found this...too sweet.

Cheeri-O harvest

We planted a few plants for our garden this year. Not as much as I wanted but that turned out ok since I was training for the marathon, I didn't have much gardening time. We have got to harvest some of our sewing. We planted zucchini, yellow squash, cucumbers, carrots, and then we have blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, plums, pears, and apples. Nothing like walking out to the garden for fresh blueberries for breakfast!

Reese's first

Bless her little heart. Reese LOVES hair. She asks everyday to do my hair, Ben's hair, and just yesterday she was standing behind Rowyn just running her hands through her hair. Rowyn has this thick lustrous hair. Reese is almost 3 and her hair barely touches er shoulders. Let's not even talk about thickness because there is none. I had a chance to talk to my cousin Amy who has a little girl close to Reese's age (and they even kind of look alike) and she was saying Lilly's hair was the same way so she trimmed it up and it seemed to help it. So we decided to try it. Just the tiniest trim to at least even out the bottom. She was so excited. She kept telling me she wanted her hair like Rowyn's. I finally thought she understood it would be more "like Momma's."
Two and a half years worth of hard growing.

All trimmed up.

She was ok with it. Then she started crying because, "You didn't cut it like Rowyn's!" Some day baby girl, some day.

Playin' catch up

It has been so hard for me to sit down and blog. (yet I can sit on Facebook....sigh). So much has gone by. Something will happen and I think "oh I wanna bottle that." If only we could, so I blog.

Here are some pics of some of the things I want to bottle up and keep.

Making some art with my girls.

Rocking + snuggles = Heaven

Decorating cakes.

And eating the scraps.

POTHOLES 2009!

We were blessed with an amazing invitation this year to join a 25 year family tradition of some friends. To go camping at Potholes with the McDaniel family. Us Cheeri-O's hadn't been camping since we had kids. (I know, isn't that terrible?) We will now be hoarding in on that yearly tradition!! We had soooo much fun. The girls were excited be fore we even got there. Sleeping in a tent, riding on a boat, smores...I'm not sure which one they were more excited about! (Though the boat ranked pretty high.) As Reese told me as we were loading the car up, "Momma, we just load aww (big arm motion with her little fingers so tight together some overlap) dis stuff in da caw, an an an DEN we load aww (again same arm motion) dis stuff in da boat. Cuz we just goin campin on da boat." To them camping meant...we were going on a boat. We were there probably 3 minutes at this time.
First sleeps really camping.
They had a great big toy at this place, the kids just loved it!

Heading out on the boat!!

LOVED IT!!

She was the happiest I have EVER seen her.

Reese went tubing!

Ben and I took a turn at tubing. LOVED IT! Brought back some memories of my younger days...especially the next day.

Made her so tired.

Rowyn loves to ride her bike...but doesn't mind stopping for a photo op.

The girls loved playing on the beach. Reese just singing and walking...Rowyn creating.

ahhh rest.

The end of our trip.
